Corner Canyon Recovery Visitors, Friends and Family, Clients and Personnel, Regarding Prevention of Covid-19
We have updated our medical policies and procedures due to the continuing and growing concern regarding the spread and transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Pursuant to the recommendations set forth by the CDC, WHO and the State of Utah, we have instituted several precautionary safety measures regarding our clients, employees, and visitors to Corner Canyon Recovery. We are also implementing protocols that will affect family and other visits to Corner Canyon as well as client’s passes with family and loved ones from Corner Canyon. By working together, we can all help mitigate the risk of exposure of all illnesses, including COVID-19, to our clients and to the Corner Canyon Recovery community at large.
Corner Canyon is invested in ensuring clients, visitors, or families that are in town to visit with their loved one, and our personnel, are free from illness. Given the close community in which we live, it is paramount that we take steps to mitigate the spread of germs. We can help safeguard our clients and personnel by following several precautionary measures:
NOTE: ALL VISITS TO CORNER CANYON RECOVERY ARE SUSPENDED TEMPORARILY. THE FOLLOWING VISIT PROTOCOLS WILL BE REINSTATED WHEN OUR MEDICAL PERSONNEL FEEL IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. THE STATE OF UTAH IS NOT REQUIRING THIS SUSPENSION HOWEVER WE FEEL IT IS NECESSARY TO PROTECT OUR CLIENTS AND PERSONNEL. Clients have the ability to make extra phone calls, facetime, and skype visits during this time.
PRIOR TO COMING TO CORNER CANYON
- Visitors shall review the Corner Canyon visitor policy.
CORNER CANYON VISITOR POLICY:
- All visitors must check in with staff at the front door, which is locked for clients protection.
- All visitors, personnel and clients must sanitize their hands before entering the facility, in addition to having their temperature checked by staff at the front door. Please use the front door only, there will be sanitation supplies available.
- All shall take time to wash their hands frequently while spending time in the facility. We will keep the door handles, entry areas, bathrooms, and surface areas sanitized on a frequent schedule.
- Visitors and incoming clients shall confirm they have been in the United States for a minimum of 14 days prior to their visit, and that during that time they have been free of fever or flu like symptoms.
- Visitors and incoming clients shall confirm that they have not been in contact with anyone they suspect or know has contracted COVID-19. If there is any possible variation to this we ask that you do not visit at this time.
- If a visitor has been in contact with a person they suspect or know to have COVID-19, such visitor shall confirm that they have not had contact with that person for a minimum of 14 days and that during that time the visitor has been free from fever or flu-like symptoms.
- While visiting clients at Corner Canyon, please avoid shaking hands and other physical contact with anyone else in the facility.
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CORNER CANYON IF YOU ARE FEELING ILL.
- Visitors who arrive at Corner Canyon with fever or flu-like symptoms will be asked to reschedule their visit.
- Flu-like symptoms include, but are not limited to, fever, headache, cough, fatigue, sore throat, muscle or body aches, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
- While visiting Corner Canyon, visitors shall abide by Corner Canyon’s health care protocols, including proper coughing, sneezing and handwashing protocols.
- Please fill out the “COVID-19 Visitor Screening Form” provided prior to any visit or upon arrival to the facility.
- We will be monitoring CDC and Utah State guidelines and there is a possibility we may temporarily suspend all visits to Corner Canyon and passes from Corner Canyon if necessary to keep our clients and personnel free of illness
As Corner Canyon’s clients progress through the program, they begin off site passes with families or loved ones. Given the many various homes of our clients, it is paramount that we do our best to mitigate the potential spread of, and exposure to COVID-19. With that concern in mind, we have instituted the following precautionary measures regarding client passes:
- If a Client is in close physical contact with anyone who has traveled to China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Japan, Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, or most countries in Europe (for full list of level 3 areas see: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html) they may not return to Corner Canyon until the following has occurred: the person who traveled abroad has been in the United States for a minimum of 14 days, and that person has remained free of fever or flu-like during those 14 days.
- If a Client is in close physical contact with anyone the client or their family suspects may have contracted, or has been confirmed to have, COVID-19, they may not return to Corner Canyon until the following has occurred: the client has remained free of fever or flu-like symptoms for a minimum of 14 days following such contact, or the client has confirmed that such person does not have a confirmed diagnosis of the COVID-19.
PLEASE CONTACT CORNER CANYON PRIOR TO SENDING YOUR LOVED ONE TO CORNER CANYON IF YOU HAVE ANY REASON TO BELIEVE THEY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19 DURING A CLIENT PASS.
ALL CORNER CANYON RECOVERY PERSONNEL
Corner Canyon Recovery has designed and implemented a medical protocol that is in alignment with guidelines set forth through the CDC and WHO, in the event that a client becomes ill. A medical protocol for our employees has also been designed and implemented that is in alignment with the CDC, WHO, OSHA, FLSA, and local Government guidelines.
If you have concerns regarding your next visit to Corner Canyon, or an upcoming client visit or pass, please contact us at your earliest convenience. We recognize that these precautionary safety measures may put pressure on your travel plans, and we would very much like to help support you and your family regarding these guidelines.
Corner Canyon has has implemented rigorous sanitizing methods to ensure that we exceed Health Department standards for food preparation and consumption. We have also taken precautions with our food suppliers who are also taking extensive precautions to ensure the safety and quality of the products they provide. Corner Canyon has been stocking up on regular medical supplies and medications where possible, in the event that obtaining supplies becomes problematic. We have ordered N95 masks for all clients and personnel should someone start to present with an illness.
Please note, that as CDC updates occur, and direction changes, we will continue to pass along additional information or changes to the above guidelines. We will react promptly to Federal and State requests for tightening of visits and travel including off site trips for clients, which are currenly limited to taking walks and hikes, physically at least 6 feet away from non Corner Canyon people.
